The
decision
as
to
the
2006
Student
of
the
Year
was
as
close
as
it
can
ever
get,
with
several
discussions
decisions
and
yet
more
of
the
same.
It
was
in
fact
so
close
that
we
decided
to
have
an
overall
winner,
and
for
the
first
time,
a
Highly
Commended
portfolio.
Both
of
these
award
winners
can
be
justifiably
proud
of
their
achievements.

Kevin’s
tutor,
Andrew
Arkinstall,
said
of
Kevin
and
his
portfolio
“
It
was
obvious
from
the
start
that
Kevin
had
an
enthusiasm
and
high
level
of
commitment
to
complete
this
qualification
and
progress.
It
was
always
a
pleasure
to
comment
on
Kevin’s
submissions,
it
was
always
well
presented
work
and
his
personal
reports
were
very
good
in
terms
of
layout
and
reference
to
evidence."
"
Kevin
evidences
how
good
he
is
as
a
SHE
manager
throughout
the
whole
of
the
portfolio,
he
should
be
justifiably
proud
of
this
award,
won
against
stiff
competition.
His
employers,
the
Tussauds
group,
should
also
be
congratulated
for
taking
their
responsibilities
under
health
and
safety
legislation
seriously,
by
sponsoring
Kevin
through
the
qualification."

Carl
demonstrated
an
excellent
knowledge
and
understanding
of
his
subject
very
well
and
wrote
some
very
detailed,
yet
focussed
reports.
His
core
evidence
was
very
good,
Carl
has
demonstrated
he
is
a
very
practical
SHE
person
and
will
have
a
successful
career
in
his
field
